Product for bleaching hair?

I want to bleach my hair but because I have dyed my hair black (to put it back to my natural hair color) Other colors wont hold onto my hair, so I wanted to bleach my hair first so I could put a new color on. I was wondering what product do you get to bleach your hair and will it turn my hair yellow or white? What is the prduct name and where can I get it? How much does it cost?

Sorry for all the questions, but thats what this site is for right?

I don't know anything about hair product, but obviously you don't use regular bleach on your hair.

thanks!

Well you know the two most obvious things. No, you do not use regular bleach on your hair and you do not know anything about hair products. The last one is the most important one.

Go to a licensed professional, Do Not Try This At Home!

You have already colored it black which means that the processing of any bleach or lightening product is going to be much different than what you think and will require a different application from what is directed on the box. If you don't know the products and know about hair, this will be a disaster.

You do not want orange, white, or yellow hair. You will probably not find a product on the retail market that will get the black dye that is currently on your hair near that color. If you are able to get it close, it will be terribly damaged and dry.

If you bleach your hair, do you know what color or shade to lightening it to before you put a color on? That has a huge affect on the outcome of the color. If you lighten it too much or too little for the color that you are going to use, it will not come out that color. It might be a dark seaweed green, bronze, grey, who knows!

The products that you can and do buy on the retail market do not and can not give you all of the information that you need ot use them at home, especially on pre processed hair. You do not have the knowlege or the experience to be able to do this with any level of success at home.

If you try it, you will probably spend the rest of the evening in a panic trying to repair it and you will have to go to a Salon anyway. In doing this, your hair will be twice as damaged, the Salon will have to do a corrective color which is more expensive and more complicated for the Stylist, and you will be terribly unhappy. Have it done professionally and save yourself the grief.

Good luck.
