I assume that the lead is the reason that it is not suppose to ve used in beards and mustaches. Most of my hair has turned white.

None of them are good to use on facial hair. If you look in the men's hair dye section, they have dye kits made specifically for dying mustaches and/or beards. One good one to try is the Just For Men brush in color.
