What do you call white in this country?

Hi I'm 15 from peru . I just got to this country. And many people don't think I'm peruvian. They think Im russian, jewish, french, north american and hispanic people ask me if I speak spanish. What do you classify as white in US?Im confused. I have brown eyes, unfortunately really white skin and dark hair. I try to use white t-shirt doesn't help. It isn't common here to see hispanics like me or something? is that what you call racism, think of all of us being brown? I've seen tons of people like me back in Peru and we don't classify people as white/black/yellow because we are not, we don't even notice we are white/black/brown etc....we are all.... well peruvians...lol. Before I got here I didn't know I was classified as 'white'. Doesn't white means gringo in spanish?

Fyi, gringo means = blue eyes and blonde hair.My mom and dad are kinda brown and my grandma is mulata and my grandpa was meztizo. I gues der r 3 'whites' twekys you refer in my fam my 2 couss + me, my sis is darky btw.

i think its more of a classification with you socially...my ex is hispanic but when he hangs with whites and he has white skin people have said things in spanish near him and he set them straight in spanish.....so it's perception of others that determines what you are....sad to say. or just say who cares and like you for you. gringo I thought was like white trash.

In this country we don't call white ppl "gringo"....hispanic ppl that say that shiit always seem to use it in a bad way so I don't care if some hispanic ppl tell me it's a benign word

the only ppl who call whites gringo are spanish speakers. We certainly dont call ourselves that!!! Racism in this country goes BOTH ways. You better learn that fast before you get all upset when someone asumes you are white. Kid, you got alot to learn!!!
